I am getting married sep. 2010. I just got engaged and I just started planning my big day. My ideal reception is semi-formal. I want it to be more of a party then a lot of weddings I have been too. I would like to find a place that I can bring my own liquor and bartender so we can afford to have an open bar! I have 100 guests attending. I need ideads for the Louisville area. so does anyone have any suggestions for a hall that does not make you use their bar???

you might try calling professional bar service--241.0509--they have been around FOREVER and have lots of ideas about how to keep the bar bill reasonable--also have a website www.ProfessionalBarService.com

You might consider--The Conrad-Caldwell House in Old Louisville near central Park--Also, Kaden Tower has a beautiful area downstairs near the fountain--The old Medical School downtown is very cool with brick walls and an open floor plan--They are all on this website and all allow open catering--there is some sort of insurance that you need to have for a bar--YOu might have that part done by Professional bar service--they have lots of different packages to choose from and are also on this site--under catering--HOPE THAT HELPS!--have fun
